As I am sure you know, Liverpool will host the 67th Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine for the annual competition in 2023. So its going to be an exciting place to be as a photographer in Liverpool. The city already has a massive party reputation, and is set to attract thousands of fans who will descend on the many bars, clubs and venues that will be putting on special Euro parties.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena next to the River Mersey on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.
Liverpool was chosen following a strong city bid process that examined facilities at the venue; the ability to accommodate thousands of visiting delegations, crew, fans and journalists; infrastructure; and the cultural offer of the Host City in reflecting Ukraine’s win in 2022.
The Worlds biggest eurovision fan club - The OGAE (Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l’Eurovision) – which is made up of 42 fan clubs from across the world – has announced that it is bringing its EuroClub to Camp and Furnace. So that is going to be pretty insane. The EuroClub will take over the Baltic Triangle venue for nine nights – from Friday 5 to Saturday 13 May – and as well as some serious dancefloor action each evening, the venue will also play host to special events and gatherings which will celebrate the competing nations.
In addition to the main final and semi-finals happening over at the Arena, Eurovision also includes the Eurovision Village, a Cultural Festival and other event venues – more details of which will be announced in the coming months. So lots of options for visitors to party and entrepreneurial opportunities for businesses to take advantage of.
Personally I can’t wait to welcome and party with fans in this amazing city in May.
So why am I telling you all this? I am the go-to-guy photographer if you are planning a Eurovision event in Liverpool. And am looking to fill my diary with bookings over that weekend.
I can provide stunning photography for you, your clients and your brand - before, during and after events. I can provide rush images on location, ready for your social media channels. How about time-lapse videos of a set up or behind the scenes sneak peak? Perhaps its adding someone with local knowledge to your production team?
We all know big events like Eurovision are a great opportunity for businesses to talk to potential customers face-to-face, so why not get images online as quick as possible and create that viral buzz. I can bring a laptop along and work with your media experts to get brand messages out there.
And of course my creative photography will generate great content to use in future communication plans as well.
I've been covering all sorts of Liverpool events over the last 15 years. And have bags of experience, so you can be total confident I will be able to secure the best coverage and images from your Eurovision related event.
I have full Public & Products Liability insurance and Professional Indemnity insurance at £10M per claim - so we are both covered if I knock something over with a tripod, or someone trips on my bag etc and I am a member and current press card holder of the National Union of Journalists - the NUJ.

In between meetings I met business man Will and got a few classic portraits on the waterfront and of course the iconic Pierhead. So if you doing business in Liverpool, need some quick but quality coverage of your time here, drop me a message.
In 2006 I was contacted by a design agency here on Merseyside to help them photograph their forthcoming debut album cover. Exciting times !
If you need last minute coverage of a speaker, a meeting, debate session, protest, fringe event or anything connected with the Labour Party conference Sunday 08 to Wednesday 11 October 2023 I might be able to help.
"I have employed David many times over the years, principally as a music conference and high profile event photographer. He is always easy to work with, has a strong sense of what style is needed for each project and brings back results on deadline. He is skilled, experienced and understands visual language and lighting. Additionally, David often helps secure additional PR and media coverage."
