Property photography Liverpool - Exchange Station

Published on Tue Jul 25, 2017 by

In todays internet driven world, many people and businesses start their search for new space online and like most things, first impressions are everything. And more often than not, a poor photograph, sends them clicking elsewhere. A photograph created by an experienced professional, however, can literally show a property in the best possible light. And make the kind of impression that speaks volumes about the unique qualities, design and personality of a commercial space, residential home or real estate property.

Using a skilled photographer for your commercial property photography will boost your marketing return and get office space filled faster then hastily done point-and-shoot photographs on the old iPhone.

I worked with Liverpool John Moores University and the Exchange Station recently to create a series of images for their marketing departments, as the University moved several of it's office based departments into the recently refurbished commercial space on Tithebarn Street, in the business district of Liverpool. They wanted to highlight the bright airy nature of the central atrium and the high quality shared networking space. The deal involves up to 400 employees from their management, finance and HR function move here from LJMU Tower, Norton Street and Kingsway House.

The building has an interesting history as a railway station. Of the four terminal stations in Liverpool's city centre, Exchange station was the only station not accessed via a tunnel.

The station was badly damaged during World War II and lost a large proportion of the trainshed roof, which was never rebuilt, remaining an iron frame. The station's long distance services were switched to Liverpool Lime Street in the 1960s, and, as a terminus, the station became redundant in the late 1970s, when its remaining local services switched to the newly opened Merseyrail tunnels under Liverpool city centre. It was closed in 1977, being replaced by the new Moorfields underground station nearby.
