Industrial photography is such a wide sector, that it is one of my favourite business areas that I cover as a professional photographer. You are never quite sure at the point of initial contact what the commission is going to involve. With over 10 years experience working at manufacturing and industry locations I've helped some great companies, both large and small to get killer images for both advertising and trade / press usage.
Recently I had a repeat commission from Knauf Insulation, who manufacture large insulation panels for clients across the UK and Europe. Previously, I worked for them documenting the installation of their product 6 floors up during the building of the new Royal Hospital in Liverpool city centre. It was a little nerve-racking, as it was an external cladding install and I went up in davit style gantry carriage - ie those rigs that can move a thin platform up and down the outside of high buildings. So when they called again I was unsure what to expect. Fortunately, this time it was on solid ground, in their manufacturing plant across on the Wirral.
The marketing department needed images of both staff and factory processes for various case studies they were working on and we booked across a couple of days to fit in with people's schedules. It was really great learning about the manufacturing of the various products and seeing a large scale production line working at full speed. Below are a few photos from the commission. Of course if you work for, or look after the public relations for, industrial or manufacturing clients and require fresh, new images give me a call. I've got full public liability insurance, have loads of experience working in areas where health and safety is a priority and am a member of the NUJ.

It is great news that the Labour movement returns its yearly gathering to the city. A great boost to the hospitality sector for the city and reinforces its role as a leading conference and event host destination in the UK.
Africa Oye is done and dusted - wow what a great weekend. Saturday's music and line up was a killer. So coming up a few highlights of the artists and some ground views. Anyways, my favourite festival and a highlight of my year for sure.
I was back with the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) at the Manchester Central Convention Complex taking conference photos and covering an evening gala dinner at Manchester Museum
