Sad to hear Jamaican reggae pioneer Frederick Nathaniel "Toots" Hibbert has died at the age of 77. The legendary musician fronted the reggae and ska band Toots & the Maytals from the early 1960s.
I've seeen them perhaps half a dozen times over the years but only photographed them once in 2011 when they headlined a gig at the Academy here in Liverpool. Of course they played all their hits including Pressure Drop, Sweet and Dandy, and 54-46 That's My Number. A legend.

A really interesting commission working with Livv Housing documenting a fire and rescue exercise in high-rise residential apartments in Kirkby. These are the people who will literally save your life!
Another Liverpool industrial photography commission under the belt and more hi-viz PPE added to the boot of the car. This time nice and local in the Old Swan, a couple of miles away from home. It was for the Lister Drive Greener Grid Park installation which is currently under construction.
Nice commission at the ACC Liverpool - Conference Venue on the waterfront. It is a venue I know very well, having worked at dozens of business events, conferences and exhibitions since it opened. It really does compete to be the UK's number one multipurpose arena and convention centre.
"As a new business, it was very important to me to get the right publicity photographs for my marketing materials. When I met David, he listened carefully to what I was trying to achieve with my brand, and then produced fabulous photographs that were exactly what I needed. He was extremely professional throughout but also nice and friendly. Myself and my clients found it easy to relax with him, which was essential to create the right vibe for the shoot. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."
