Africa Oye is done and dusted - wow what a great weekend. Saturday's music and line up was a killer. So coming up a few highlights of the artists and some ground views. Anyways, my favourite festival and a highlight of my year for sure.

As I always say, Africa Oye is my favourite festival and probably the nearest, being about 15 minutes walk from my home. Slightly delayed, is the 30th anniversary of the festival a few weeks ago.

Africa Oye is the UK's largest free African music festival and it just keeps getting better and better. It is an Oye Family now - a solid crew of management and trustees and an audience that knows how to party !

Back again at my favourite festival - great music and a brilliant weekend weather wise. It really is a highlight in Liverpool's musical calendar - superb programming and really well organised.

The UK's largest free celebration of African music and culture takes place annually in Liverpool. Beginning in 1992 as a series of small gigs in the city centre, the event has gone from strength to strength, moving to its present Sefton Park home in 2002 to cope with demand
